Quick Update
about 2 years ago – Sat, Feb 05, 2022 at 09:43:51 AM

Just a quick update on printing.

So at the moment based on what other publishers are saying delays and paper shortage may mean printing will not end or be finished before June, of course, this is a long wait which I really do not want to deal with, mainly because as a small indie publisher I cannot sit here waiting, I need to be producing stuff in order to keep a roof over my families heads, so I am currently looking into other solutions and will update you all once I know.

Ghost Ops 5th edition is still on course for the end of February and hopefully all Printed books will be sorted and gone by March, which is better than June but not perfect.

I will continue to update as soon as I know.

Thanks for your patience.

Happy New Year
over 2 years ago – Mon, Jan 10, 2022 at 09:24:22 AM

New year new update and this will be quick but should cover everything you need to know.

Ghost Ops 5th ed. The work continues and the books should be with you by the end of February at least in PDF format, I will try to get the PoD done also so that I can send the codes with the PDF links.

Ghost Ops Print. Now the new year is over I am awaiting word on the current state of things, such as paper availability and backlog etc, hopefully, I should hear soon so the book will not be too far delayed, though I have been waiting since May for some Kickstarters to print, so I feel I'm not doing too bad considering I'm doing this all myself. I will update you all as soon as I know anything, but it would be nice to get the files to the printer before the end of January (I'm as eager to see it as you are as this will be my first offset printed book).

The pre-order store will stay open until I send the files so if you want a hardback or special edition of the game you still have time to grab one.

That is really it at the moment, I am really focusing on getting the 5th ed out at the moment and waiting to hear back from the printers.

Hope you are all well and thanks for the continued support.

Print Copies
over 2 years ago – Sat, Dec 11, 2021 at 10:40:48 AM

Hi

So let's talk about print books.

First I will not know the state of the print situation until January this is because the printer has stopped taking orders until such times as it deals with the backlog and the paper shortage, but I will be keeping you all up to date on that as soon as I know,

Second, the Fudge Dice or main version of the Ghost Ops core rules will not be available on DTRPG as a printed book, there are two reasons for this:

1. Print Quality - I am offset printing the core rules so they will be of a higher quality and stitch bound with a ribbon. Images will be crisp and the paper will be thicker.

2. Cost - The cost of a premium quality hardback would be (with postage) around $80 for you to buy and much more for me to send, whereas ordering an offset printed book from me would actually cost you only $60 with postage or thereabout, this will change with currency.

So if you did not back at a printed level and was hoping to grab the PoD on DTRPG you are out of luck but preordering it will be more cost-effective and you will receive a better quality product.

Thanks

Savage Ghost Ops Complete, Print update
over 2 years ago – Tue, Nov 09, 2021 at 05:48:27 AM

I have PM'd everyone a code to purchase the softback Savage Ghost Ops book, this will be in your messages on Kickstarter. If anyone has not received a code and either included it as an addon or added during Backerkit please contact me and I will get the code sent to you.

This is just for the Savage Ghost Ops Backers

For standard Ghost Ops, Mark Rapson received a message from the printers yesterday I think or the day before (every day just blurs into another), that they were not taking any new print jobs on until the new year, this is due to backlog and paper shortage so it was the right decision to hold back, as that would have happened anyway.

Thanks for the support

News Update
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 01, 2021 at 10:26:31 AM

A brief rundown on what has happened so far.

The PDFs for the Standard edition and the Savage Worlds editions are out, I am currently awaiting the PoD files to be accepted for the SW version and once I have checked them I will be sending out the codes.

The 5th ed edition is still on schedule for the beginning of 2022 and I am very pleased with it so far, lots of interesting changes to the base 5th ed rules.

Ok so the print edition of the standard will be inevitably delayed, with the shipping as it is and Xmas around the corner I think it is wise to delay it, so why you ask. This will be the first time I have ever done offset printing, and I am quite excited to see the book all stitched bound, glossy and with ribbons. But printing will take at least 6 weeks which places well within the Xmas month, then on top of this shipping delays, after which posting everything out during the holiday will make it more expensive and more likely to get damaged or lost. As a small developer I cannot afford to replace lost or damaged books or an increase in postage, and unlike many other kickstarters at the moment I am not going to ask for more money, that is not fair, so I will wait until after the holiday when everything has calmed down.

I am probably being overly cautious but this is my first proper printing and I do not want it to go horribly wrong, I have backed a few Kickstarters that have nightmare stories and the backers are either waiting extended lengths of time or being asked to cough up more cash, I hate this as a backer so I will not do the same, there will be a delay but I will feel a lot more secure doing that.

So sorry about this you standard backers but it is still coming and probably faster as shipping and printing will not be so backed up.

Thanks
