Quick Update

Hi

So in the last update, I mentioned the situation myself and my wife was going through regarding her parents and how this will slow down the sending of hardback books. I did manage to send a few out and it seems that people have started to receive them.

So since the last update, my wife's father passed away a few days ago and her mother passed away this morning.  Though we were expecting this it's been a hard week, but now is the time to move to the next stage, which unfortunately will impact my ability to send any books out. The next stage is arranging and paying for funerals, it may sound callous but having a joint funeral will be cheaper than having two separate ones but still expensive, how expensive I do not know at this moment but until I do know I cannot afford to send any books.

I apologise for this but it is out of my control, I would like to thank everyone that sent emails and messages of condolences, I have passed those on to my wife and as always we are both overwhelmed by your understanding. I have received complaints and those people have been noted. I have also received messages offering to pay for postage again or where they can donate to help, and though I appreciate the sentiment that is not what I want, you have all already paid for everything and that is that. But if you do wish to help please consider purchasing something from my DTRPG store

I will keep you updated over the next few weeks, again I apologise.

Update on Books

So as you all know the books are going out in batches, this, unfortunately, has not happened as quickly as I like and there is a reason.

My wife's parents have been ill and her father was recovering from mouth cancer, but in recent weeks there have been signs that it has spread, so my wife went to her parents who live around 200 miles away to spend time with her father when she arrived both her parents had deteriorated from when last she had seen then a few weeks earlier, at which point she discovers that her mother was suffering from both lung and bone cancer, this was a shock and since being their her mother has been placed on special care with morphine for the pain, administered by nurses four times a day, and her father getting more and more confused with headaches (which is very scary). consequently, my wife has decided to stay there and care for them. What this means is that the money we have is being stretched to not only cover our own rent and bills (which have all recently gone up) but also her parents who cannot be expected to deal with them. This had tightened our finances as you can imagine and I have to set priorities and rulebooks come pretty low at the moment on that list.

I realise some of you will not care and that's fine, this is not an update seeking sympathy but just to let you know there may be a delay and why. I will send out books when I can and hopefully, I will be able to get them all out as quick as possible.

I will keep you updated as there is a possibility that we may move to her parents to care for them and to reduce costs, but that will depend on developments over the coming weeks. Moving will free up some cash, which will help, but I will keep you updated and continue to send books out when I can.

PDFs and Updates

Hope everyone is well here is a wordy update

Today I will be sending out the Ghost Ops Second Strike 5th edition PDFs and PoD codes, with the GM kit following in the next few days ( I managed to lose all my progress on it and have to start again which is annoying).

You will receive an email from DTRPG with a link to the PDF, if you do not receive it please check spam and your DTRPG library before contacting me, if the file link still does not appear then please DM me with your DTRPG email on Kickstarter and I will get that sent out to you.

PoD codes will be DM'd to you, these will allow you to order the books for the cost of print and postage.

Standard Edition Physical Books

Ghost Ops Second Strike standard edition print copies are still in flux and upon checking out the PoD copies for the 5th ed version I am considering going down that route even though it will cost more.

Offset printing would be cheaper but because interest in Ghost Ops was so low, it may not be prudent for me to print 500 copies which is the minimum as they may not sell, also with the date of June as a possible printing date it is too far ahead for me, I am a single person doing all the work, I do not have an office or a stack of cash, so having books sitting around and not selling is suicide.

I will admit this is my fault as I presumed due to the interest in Ghost Ops and the success of the previous Kickstarter that I would have enough backers to justify a print run, sadly that was not the case which surprised and upset me as Ghost Ops was something I was proud of.

Anyway, the PoD option is something I am considering and with the increase in fuel and food costs, I would rather get it done now than in June as I may not have the money in June.

I will keep you updated once I have sorted the 5th ed version of the game which will allow me to focus on the standard version.
